The ANU Competitive Dance Team (CDT) is comprised of 6 separate teams which compete in the styles of hiphop, jazz, pom and lyrical/contemporary.

The ANU Competitive Dance Team (CDT) is composed of 6 separate teams: two Hip-Hop teams, two Jazz Teams, a Contemporary Team and a Pom team. We compete in 3-4 competitions throughout the year against other universities and adult dance groups including the Australian All-Star Cheerleading Federation (AASCF) States and Nationals. Additionally, the teams have the opportunity to showcase their skills locally including performing at ANU Interhall Dance night among other events. Each team trains for 1.25 hours a week to work on and perfect a routine which they will perform at each competition as well as an additional 1.25 hour technique/strength and conditioning class. The trainings and competitions require a high level of commitment from our athletes, but it is an amazing experience to make friends and learn the value of teamwork. We also offer a range of social events and merchandise for our dancers.

To join the team, attend our auditions which are held at the start of the year in February/early March for initial team selection and then again mid-year in July. We mainly consist of people who have previous dance experience but we welcome beginners to join us for some of our open workshops throughout the year! If you have any questions feel free to send us an email, and you can find the schedule for classes, auditions and free workshops on our Instagram and Facebook, linked on this page.
